Greetings from the cape!
fabulously contemplated by Miss Cape CodHello! I’m Miss Cape Cod and I am *thrilled* to be here! I am a born and bred Midwestern girl who is marrying a boy from South Jersey. We are planning a wedding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and if any of you are like some of our guests, you are wondering: Why Wisconsin? Where is Milwaukee anyways?
I grew up in Milwaukee and most of my family still lives there. Almost all of Mr. CC’s family lives in South Jersey. So even though the two of us currently live in Minnesota, we opted to have the wedding in Milwaukee so that both families don’t have to travel.
Mr. CC and I met 5 years ago at a scientific conference, which should give you an indication of how completely nerdy we are. I’d like to think that Mr. CC was smitten after seeing my data-rific presentation, but the truth is, it probably had more to do with cocktails and sitting on the beach talking until all hours of the morning.
We dated long-distance for the first year of our relationship, and then Mr. CC moved to Minneapolis, where I was living. We stayed in Minneapolis for 2 years, moved to Kentucky for a year, and have recently moved back to Minneapolis. We love it here!
Mr. CC moved from Kentucky to Minneapolis 3 months before I did, and a month and a half after he moved, he came to visit me for my birthday, promising to help me pack up our house for the big move. I was so excited to see him, but that didn’t stop me from getting lost on the way to the airport – I ended up arriving 30 minutes late to pick him up! We had lunch plans with friends, so we stopped at our house quickly to drop Mr. CC’s luggage off and give him a minute to freshen up. Or, at least that’s what he told me… I went into the kitchen and was getting some things together when he came in, said a whole bunch of nice stuff, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! Needless to say, we spent the entire weekend celebrating instead of packing…
Later, Mr. CC told me that the proposal almost didn’t happen… He spent nearly 2 weeks trying to contact my dad to ask permission to marry me. My dad had lost his cell phone, though, and Mr. CC didn’t reach him until the day before he came to visit me! Talk about a close call…
And, you’re probably wondering why Cape Cod? 3 reasons: 1. they’re delicious, 2. they match our wedding colors (black and ivory with red accents), and 3. my fiancé’s family is always drinking them (could a girl ask for a better soon-to-be family?).
Thanks for planning along with me… I can’t wait to share the details of our big day with all of you!

Ooh!! I grew up in Milwaukee, and I went to many a school dance at the Grain Exchange! What an awesome space for a reception. We’re getting married in Ithaca, NY (where we live now), but I’m leaving for Milwaukee in 12 hours for my wedding shower. Can’t wait to hear more!

Stop it!!! My office is right next to the Grain Exchange Room!!! My team and I watch wedding guests arrive every weekend. I was at the grand re-opening last month — have you seen it since the remodel? It’s absolutely fantastic!
